Objective:
Forgiveness & Reconciliation
I want to see us begin to truly work with each other, instead of placating each other. We can begin to see each other the way we see ourselves. It has to be reflected both in our words and our actions. ~ Dr. Johannes J. Christian
We Seek to raise awareness
about victimization
and the power of forgiveness while living with a disability.
Unity
To create a conversation that
brings about change;
a conversation that
brings about unity.
Forgiveness isn’t always easy.
Imagine what most of us would do if someone had intentionally done something that took away one of our five senses. Or if someone wanted you dead.
Wouldn’t it be fair to say that forgiveness wouldn’t be high on any our priorities?
It is a challenge for all of us to engage in self-evaluation, to understand and recognize the flaws in our logic: the ones that shut others out.
Today, there is a great need for forgiveness, in our lives, in our communities and in our country. The opportunity is simple: begin to look at you, and how you impact the world around you. Wherever you live, look at the country in which you reside. Then ask yourself: what can I do to impact the country where I live?
And yet, “the act of forgiveness has to be something that is really worked through; it has to be a part of your own values system; it has to be recognized as part of your personal emotions; it has to become something more than just a flippant word.” ~ Johannes J. Christian
